The Road Maintenance Unit is managed by the Deputy Chief Executive Officer. The unit is responsible for the maintenance of existing road infrastructure to a high level of quality, working in close collaboration with district administrators to control damage and ensure safety to road users within each district.
The unit is responsible for the repair and replacement needs of the existing road network and its infrastructure. Infrastructure is inclusive of drains, pavement, water barriers, bus shelters, crash barriers and fencing.
A 24 hour responsive unit, in cases where the road has sustained minor damage to road infrastructure that has rendered it unusable to traffic, the unit is deployed to direct emergency works during and after working hours.
