Transitioning to clean, cost-effective energy solutions under the Seychelles Renewable Energy Acceleration Program (REAP).
The electric streetlights of the man-made island of Perseverance were replaced with solar streetlights in contribution to the REAP program.
This strategic upgrade reduces the dependency of the Seychelles streetlight system on fossil fuel energy, aligning the agency with national environmental objectives.
The solar lights will effectively reduce the electricity cost to the Seychelles Land Transport Agency, allowing for resources to be redirected toward further infrastructure improvements across the archipelago.
